Overall, 2Fifty Texas BBQ is more than just a restaurant – it's a destination where good food and good vibes come together. So why not stop by and indulge in the flavors of Texas right here in Maryland?

The food here is extremely flavorful and amazing. The inside is a little small but plenty of seating as well as even more seating outside. The drink selection is amazingly refreshing. I loved the sparkling lemonade!!! There is parking on the street but there is a lot right across the street. It is perfectly located where it stands alone from other businesses. The service was very quick regardless of the line and they give you the device that buzzes when your food is done. Customer service was good as well! Definitely a place that you need to run NOT walk to. I will definitely be back for more!

I knew walking up that it was going to be good. You have to walk past the smoke station where everything is getting cooked to get into the store. It's the aroma and the smell of bbq that invites you in. Orders are taken at the register and food was prepped quickly. Maybe 5 minutes from order to receiving my food, barely enough to finish a cup of water where they have a serve yourself station. The meat was super tender and packed with flavor. I was able to pull it off the bone with no problem. Even the flimsy plastic knife and fork was able to cut it. Which btw, can we get an actual metal knife for this thing? Cooked perfectly through with char on the outside and a bit of pink on the inside. It was delicious and truly recommend trying it. I love some good bbq and this ranks up there. It didn't come with any sauce on it and I ate a quarter of it without the sauce to really enjoy it before spreading it all across. The sauce isn't necessary but it's a great addition. I made it through half before deciding to bring the rest home. It was good to try the dino beef rib this time, I look forward to trying the pork spare ribs which is my usual staple next time. And if I had seen the brisket tamales I would've gotten that today too!

There is a reason this place made Yelp's top bbq and Washingtonian's list....BBQ is the best in DMV and its not close, regardless of the namesake of the BBQ. Service is always top notch and prompt and food prepped quickly! They have picnice tables outside which were perfect on this 75 and sunny evening and tables inside, which can get chaotic when the weather isnt nice. My favorite part is the ability to pre-order, for when you want great food, but know tomorrow is gonna be a nightmare. Hands down my favorite spot in the DMV for BBQ.....Bonus, if you run by at 0500, you can watch them working and smoking your lunch/dinner!!

"Almost great." This is as close to Hill Country TX BBQ as you're likely to get in the DC Metro, and that's a lot. 2Fifty gets some things right, but there's also room to up their game. Let's start with the big thing: brisket. We received three slices, a fair deal, and they were good, but not on par with the best of TX. One slice was dense and chewy, almost dry. The second was soft and spongy, likely overdone. The third was almost half fat, which is an issue with trimming the cut before smoking. For all slices, 2Fifty uses a dry rub that's very heavy on black and/or white pepper. Pepper is a standard rub ingredient, but its flavor shouldn't dominate: the meat's should. 2Fifty needs to pay more attention to trimming, to standardize their smokes and/or resting, and to even out their rub. Our beef rib was very good--juicy meat held on by straps of flavorful connective tissue, well-smoked too (not easy). Beef ribs are a signature TX dish and ours was worth the price. The pulled pork was outstanding, if not the best I've ever had. It was well-textured--fibrous but not stringy--and not chopped up tiny, a common nit. The sauce was spot on, flavorful but not overpowering, enhancing the bacon-y meat, and the addition of minced garlic sprinkled on top is genius. The two house sauces on offer suffer from the same heavy hand as the dry rub, except it's cumin. Both are very cumin-forward and not great condiments. Sides? Didn't sample them all, but what we had was okay. Coleslaw was neither good nor bad, nothing special. Brisket baked beans were tangy and just sweet enough, but the brisket bits were tough and not too flavorful. Alcohol options include Shiner Bock and Austin Eastciders, both regional faves and great pairings with 'que. One regret is that while 2Fifty cites their El Salvadoran roots, they don't explain what that means for the BBQ. I would've loved to learn what distinguishes El Salvadoran-style BBQ. On a Sunday afternoon, we waited about 30 minutes. That's longer than we've waited at some of Texas' very best. Quality's on par with a 2nd-tier TX spot like Salt Lick, but not up there with LA BBQ, Terry Black, Kreuz's, etc. We plan to go back, but at a less busy time, and would like to try their sausage and turkey. Like brisket, these are tests of great BBQ, and I hope they're more consistent than the brisket.

2Fifty Texas BBQ is a must-visit for anyone craving the authentic flavors of Texas barbecue. If you're lucky enough to have experienced Salt Lick in Texas, you'll be delighted to find that 2Fifty's barbecue is a close contender in taste and quality. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the intoxicating aroma of slow-smoked meats, instantly transporting you to a Texas barbecue joint. The menu is a carnivore's dream offering succulent brisket, mouthwatering ribs, tender pulled pork, flavorful sausage links, and more! Now, let's talk sides. Creamy mac and cheese, tangy coleslaw, and buttery cornbread perfectly complement the barbecue. And don't forget the pickles! Crisp, tangy, and perfectly seasoned, they add a refreshing kick that'll have you asking for more. I always do. The restaurant does not offer a lot of indoor seating but there is also plenty of outdoor seating and the food travels very well if you'd like to take everything home. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and willing to answer any questions!

Holy - the BBQ was great. As they note on the door - the line may look long, but the queue runs quick. Brisket, sausages, ribs, sides and corn bread - all amazing and wish i could consume more. Skip the tamales though. They are good just not as good as everything else
